Jazmine A. Torres

Jazmine is a California native, but South Louisiana and St. Tammany Parish are home. She lived in Abita Springs as a teenager and attended Junior High and High School on the Northshore. After several years of living and practicing away from home, she moved back to the Northshore in 2020 and is loving practicing law in her hometown. Having moved around quite a bit as a child, including living in Puerto Rico for some of her childhood, Jazmine truly values culture, diversity, nature, and the outdoors. Jazmine is no stranger to hard work, either. Having been raised by a single mother of four children, all of whom have obtained college degrees, she learned the value of hard work and relentlessly pursuing goals. Her diverse background and unique life experiences translate into her work as an attorney and her personal life. She has managed heavy caseloads with impeccable work ethic while staying actively involved in her local bar association, church, and community.

After graduating Southern University Law Center in 2015, where she served as the Student Bar Association President for the evening division for two years, Jazmine clerked for the Honorable Penelope Richard at the 38th JDC in Cameron Parish. She also worked as a bar prep mentor, mentoring law graduates and assisting them in preparation for the bar exam. She went on to work for the Louisiana Attorney General’s office as an Assistant Attorney General, where she practiced civil defense litigation.

She is an experienced attorney with a demonstrated history of family law, personal injury and business/commercial litigation. She is also skilled in litigation, workers’ compensation, civil defense, mediations, general torts litigation, subrogation and interventions, and premises liability.  Jazmine has successfully prosecuted suits and reached favorable outcomes for her clients. She has also defended her clients through trial and has obtained several dismissals and favorable judgments on behalf of her clients. She has successfully negotiated many settlements and has successfully recovered money on behalf of her clients in personal injury suits, subrogation, and intervention suits.

She also works for Mitchel Hamline School of Law as adjunct faculty, tutoring students both academically and in preparation for their respective bar exams.
